This year, the Marathon of Bordeaux Métropole 2019, which had to be held in April, has been postponed to the 26th of October 2019, for security reasons related to the movement of the French “yellow jackets”.
This is just a matter of time, since this year promises to be another great edition for about 20,000 runners who sign up for this legendary night race.
This race seduces both runners and supporters because it is a very great way to enjoy the architectural beauty of Bordeaux.

The main characteristic of the Marathon of Bordeaux? A 42.195 km course which takes place at night! The only "running by night" of France is worth participating, as it goes through the most beautiful monuments of Bordeaux and ends up with a festive evening to reward the runners.
The departure of the race is at 8pm, after dark, and the show promises to be magical, both for runners and supporters who discover or rediscover the architectural heritage of illuminated Bordeaux.
Like the biggest Marathons, the Bordeaux Metropole 2019 Marathon offers you a route through the most beautiful monuments of Bordeaux.
The runners will leave one of the most recognized monument of Bordeaux, the Palace de la Bourse, then head to the Chaban Delmas Bridge, the Cathedral of St. Andrew, Gambetta Square, the Castles Luchey Halde and Picque Caillou. They will continue to Pessac and Talence and then return to the Cours du Médoc, Les Chartrons and finish the last kilometer by Porte Cailhau.
The half-marathon, also promises a beautiful course, since after a separation with the marathon runners at the place Gambetta, runners can continue to the Bassin à flots, pass La Cité du Vin before returning to the Chaban Delmas Bridge and le Pont de Pierre.
